Zendesk Pricing: Plans, AI Resolution Fees and Real Team Costs
Zendesk costs $19, $55 or $115 per agent a month on annual billing, then $2.00 for each AI resolution past a small allowance and $50 per agent for Copilot. Here is what each plan includes and what a 5-agent team really pays.
Zendesk costs $19, $55 or $115 per agent per month on annual billing (Support Team, Suite Team, Suite Professional), or $25, $69 and $149 if you pay monthly. Suite Enterprise is quote-only. On top of seats, AI resolutions past a small included allowance cost $2.00 each on pay-as-you-go, and Copilot is $50 per agent per month. Prices verified on zendesk.com/pricing on November 4, 2026.
The seat price is the smallest part of the decision. What you actually pay depends on three things: which plan the features you need sit on, how many conversations the AI closes, and which add-ons you end up buying.
This is the pricing explainer. For the feature-by-feature head-to-head, see Zendesk vs SupportWire.

Zendesk plans at a glance#
| Plan | Annual billing | Monthly billing | Included AI resolutions | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Support Team | $19/agent/mo | $25/agent/mo | 5 per agent/mo | Email ticketing only |
| Suite Team | $55/agent/mo | $69/agent/mo | 5 per agent/mo | Chat, messaging, phone, AI agents |
| Suite Professional | $115/agent/mo | $149/agent/mo | 10 per agent/mo | Skills routing, Copilot eligible |
| Suite Enterprise + Copilot | Not published | Not published | Not published | Sales-led, Copilot included |
Zendesk advertises "20% off annual," but the real gap varies by plan: about 24% on Support Team, 20% on Suite Team and 23% on Suite Professional. The included AI resolutions are capped at up to 10,000 a year. All prices verified Nov 4, 2026.
What each plan includes#
Support Team: $19 per agent
Email ticketing, ticket routing, prebuilt analytics dashboards, pre-written responses, customer context, and automations and triggers.
This is the cheapest way into Zendesk, and it is a ticketing tool, not a suite. There is no live chat or messaging on this plan. If you want customers to chat with you on your website, you are on Suite Team at minimum.
Suite Team: $55 per agent
Everything in Support Team, plus AI agents, an AI knowledge base, the AI action builder, omnichannel routing, messaging and live chat, and telephony.
This is the realistic entry plan for a team that wants chat and an AI agent. It is nearly 3x the Support Team price per agent.
Suite Professional: $115 per agent
Everything in Suite Team, plus admin copilot, App Builder, AI writing tools, quick reports, skills-based routing, an IVR phone menu, and up to 100 light agents.
Zendesk marks this "Most popular." It is also the lowest plan that can add Copilot, which matters more than any feature on this list (more on that below).
Suite Enterprise + Copilot: talk to sales
Everything in Professional, plus intelligent triage, auto assist, generative AI for voice, approval workflows, a sandbox environment, and custom agent roles. Copilot is bundled. There is no public price, so you will be negotiating.
How Zendesk's AI pricing works#
Zendesk splits AI into two separate bills: AI agents that answer customers (billed per resolution) and Copilot that helps your human agents (billed per seat).
AI agents: per automated resolution
Zendesk calls these "automated resolutions" (ARs). Per its pricing FAQ, you pay only when the AI agent resolves a request without escalating to a human.
| Support Team | Suite Team | Suite Professional | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Included ARs | 5 per agent/mo | 5 per agent/mo | 10 per agent/mo |
| Committed ARs | Shown as £1.30 | Shown as £1.30 | Shown as £1.30 |
| Pay-as-you-go ARs | $2.00 | $2.00 | $2.00 |
Three things to know:
- The allowance is small. A 5-agent team on Suite Team gets 25 included resolutions a month. Even a modest AI agent will pass that in the first week.
- The committed rate is unclear in USD. On the page we loaded, the committed price was the only figure shown in pounds while everything else was in US dollars. Treat £1.30 as a sign that committing to volume is cheaper than pay-as-you-go, and get the USD number in writing from sales.
- $1.50 is not on the page. Older articles quote Zendesk AI at $1.50 per resolution. On November 4, 2026, Zendesk's pricing page did not show that figure anywhere. We are using $2.00 because it is the published pay-as-you-go price.
Some advanced AI agent features are listed as an "AI agents Advanced" add-on with no public price, and voice AI and QA features are marked "Requires QA add-on," also without a published price.
Copilot: $50 per agent
Copilot is the agent-assist layer: auto assist, suggested replies, writing tools, intelligent triage and proactive recommendations. It costs $50 per agent per month on annual billing.
The catch is in one line on the pricing page: Copilot can be added to Suite Professional and higher. So if you are on Suite Team at $55 and want Copilot, your real price is $115 + $50 = $165 per agent per month, three times what the plan card suggested.
The hidden costs#
These are the line items that do not show up on the plan cards but do show up on the invoice:
- Every agent is a full seat. Pricing is per agent, and anyone who works tickets needs one. Light agents (view and comment only) are included up to 100 on Suite Professional and sold as an add-on on Suite Team.
- Plan jumps for one feature. Skills-based routing, IVR and Copilot eligibility all sit on Suite Professional. Need one of them for one workflow, and every seat moves from $55 to $115.
- Workforce Engagement Bundle: $50 per agent. Workforce management (staffing, scheduling), quality assurance and coaching come as a bundle at $50 per agent per month. QA and WFM are not priced on their own.
- Contact Center: $83 per agent. Advanced IVR, call recording and summaries, real-time transcription and contact center dashboards are a separate add-on.
- Usage-based extras. Zendesk notes that App Builder, Action Builder and Voice have usage-based charges, plus phone numbers and minutes, extra storage, sandbox, advanced data privacy and premier support, none of which have a public price.
- AI resolution overage. Every resolution past the allowance is $2.00 on pay-as-you-go. This is the line that grows fastest as your AI gets better.
What a real 5-agent team pays#
Here is a 5-agent team on annual billing whose AI agent resolves 300 conversations a month. Two realistic setups:
Setup A: Suite Team, no Copilot
| Line item | Monthly cost |
|---|---|
| 5 agents on Suite Team ($55) | $275 |
| 300 AI resolutions: 25 included, 275 × $2.00 | $550 |
| Total | $825 a month, $9,900 a year |
Setup B: Suite Professional with Copilot
| Line item | Monthly cost |
|---|---|
| 5 agents on Suite Professional ($115) | $575 |
| Copilot, 5 agents ($50) | $250 |
| 300 AI resolutions: 50 included, 250 × $2.00 | $500 |
| Total | $1,325 a month, $15,900 a year |
Add the Workforce Engagement Bundle for QA and scheduling and Setup B gains another $250 a month. Pay monthly instead of annually and the 5 Suite Professional seats go from $575 to $745.
Notice where the money goes in Setup A: the AI line is twice the seat line. On Zendesk, a better-performing AI agent means a bigger bill, and the per-resolution rate is the number to negotiate.
Zendesk vs SupportWire on price#

Source: SupportWire pricing page, captured Nov 4, 2026.
SupportWire is one plan: $19 per seat per month with everything included. Each month includes 50 AI resolutions, then each one is $0.49. Lite seats are unlimited and free. Copilot-style drafting for your agents is free, and there are no AI conversation caps. Full details on the pricing page.
Same team, same 300 AI resolutions:
| Zendesk Suite Team | Zendesk Suite Pro + Copilot | SupportWire | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 seats | $275 | $575 | $95 |
| Agent assist (Copilot) | Not available | $250 | Included |
| AI resolutions | 275 × $2.00 = $550 | 250 × $2.00 = $500 | 250 × $0.49 = $122.50 |
| Monthly total | $825 | $1,325 | $217.50 |
Zendesk prices verified Nov 4, 2026, annual billing. SupportWire prices verified Oct 29, 2026.
SupportWire charges for a resolution when the customer confirms it, or when Kal gave a real answer and the customer stays quiet for 24 hours. Handoffs to a human are never charged. We wrote up how that meter works in Paddle sells a bill, not a meter.
Where Zendesk still wins#
The price gap is real, but it is not the whole story:
- Scale and compliance. Zendesk is built for large support orgs with dedicated ops staff, approval workflows, sandboxes and custom roles. If you have 200 agents and a procurement team, that depth matters.
- Voice and contact center. IVR, call recording, real-time transcription and WFM are mature products at Zendesk. If phone is your main channel, it is hard to match.
- Ecosystem. Zendesk has a large marketplace of apps and a long list of consultants who already know it.
Who should stay and who should switch#
Stay on Zendesk if you run a large, phone-heavy contact center, you already use WFM and QA, or your security team has approved Zendesk and switching would restart that review.
Switch if you are a small or mid-size team paying for Suite Professional mostly to get Copilot, your AI resolution line is growing faster than your seat line, or you cannot predict next month's bill. Our list of the best Zendesk alternatives for small business covers eight options with one honest weakness each.
Migration checklist#
If you are moving off Zendesk, in order:
- Check your renewal date. Annual plans bill upfront. Plan the move for the end of your term.
- Export your help center articles. They become the knowledge source for your new AI agent.
- Export tickets and customer records you need for history and context.
- List your macros, triggers and automations. Rebuild only the ones that still fire.
- Map your channels: email forwarding, chat widget, social and phone.
- Run both tools for a week with the new AI agent answering a slice of traffic before you cut over.
The migration playbook walks through the SupportWire side step by step.
Is Zendesk worth the price?#
For a large team that needs a full contact center, Zendesk's depth can justify the bill. For a 3 to 15 person team, the math rarely works: chat starts at $55, Copilot forces you to $115, and every AI resolution past the small allowance is $2.00.

Zendesk's pricing page lists pay-as-you-go automated resolutions at $2.00 each. It also offers committed resolution volumes at a lower rate, which the page showed as £1.30 when we checked, so confirm the committed rate in your currency with Zendesk sales. Each plan includes a small allowance first: 5 automated resolutions per agent per month on Support Team and Suite Team, 10 on Suite Professional.
Not on the public pricing page. When we checked on November 4, 2026, the page did not mention $1.50 anywhere. It listed $2.00 per pay-as-you-go resolution and a separate committed rate. If a quote or older article says $1.50, ask Zendesk to confirm it in writing.
Copilot is a $50 per agent per month add-on on annual billing. Zendesk's page says it can be added to Suite Professional and higher plans, so a team on Suite Team would need to move up to Professional ($115) before adding it. It is included in the Suite Enterprise + Copilot plan.
Yes. Zendesk offers a 14-day free trial with access to Suite Professional features, and Copilot is included in the trial by default. Eligible startups can apply to Zendesk for Startups, which Zendesk describes as a 6-month Suite trial for up to 50 agents.
SupportWire is one plan at $19 per seat per month with everything included, unlimited free lite seats, 50 AI resolutions included each month, then $0.49 per resolution. Copilot style drafting is free. For a 5-agent team with 300 AI resolutions a month, that is $217.50 a month against $1,325 on Zendesk Suite Professional with Copilot.
